Kets Jimmy
Jimmy Kets was born in 1979 in Lier. While studying at the Saint-Luc Institute of Antwerp, he combined his graphic design and illustration classes with a photography workshop. His dissertation (which later became a book) took him to Nepal, where he photographed the children of the streets of Katmandu. Since 2001, he has worked as a freelance photographer for a string of newspapers, most notably the daily “De Morgen”. In 2006, he won second prize in the SABAM contest for best humour picture and participated in a joint exhibition titled “De Morgen, In The Picture” at BOZAR (Brussels). One year later, he repeated himself with the exhibition titled “China, People’s Republic of Desire” at the Chinese Pavilion (Brussels).
