City Administrative, urban blight
The former City Administrative is a project of the Belgian State, to create a huge complex to consolidate national administrations. Its construction began in 1958 in the city center of Brussels. The last stone was laid in 1983 following a series of delays. The federalization of Belgium, causing the elimination of many state services, destroys the original project. The so called City administrative is disused since the early 2000s. The complex was sold to private developers in 2003.
